Last Sunday our two gymnastic teams entered the Gymsports competition and competed against other schools. Both teams performed well and were very proud of themselves as it was their first time for many. Some gymnasts performed exceptionally well. Rayarn on beam, Jimmi on vault and Hannah on floor all gained a 9.0!

Thanks to our photographers and videographers and all the parents who turned up to support our school.

Have you checked your tyres are pumped up? Checked your brakes? Checked your helmet?

Bring your Wheelies along on Wednesday for our WoW (wheels on Wednesday).

Organise a team of 4 (mixed ages) and earn your House a point. Turn up with your team at lunch time for a bike relay with obstacles.

A big congratulations to ;Tim and Brooke Lawry, Marit and Sam Zwart, Charlie and Jonty Carran, Max Cowie, and Kaleb Lamb who entered their first multisport event. Some ran and biked as a team where others went it alone and completed the Junior duathalon as individuals.

Thanks to all the support personnel who helped and encouraged their athletes.

Great Effort!

Enjoyed our triathlon last year? Would like to have ago at a duathalon (running/walking and biking)?

The Wai Tri sounds like it’s for you. Do it by yourself or as a team. Do as little or as much as you want.

If it’s for you and Mum and Dad have said YES! Come and see Kerry for an entry form.

What a successful WoW we had last Wednesday! We had over 50 cyclists take part in all sorts of activities over break time and lunch time.

Cyclists were able to test their skills on some homemade jumps bought down from the Burnett’s, Flett’s, Halford’s and Room 4. Some other biking skills were put to the test such as weaving, turning, racing and a favourite of throwing a beanbag into a barrel. Many thanks to Regan Van Brecht and Max Foy for helping at this activity.

Last Thursday our two golf teams entered the Southland Golf Tournament held up at the Otautau Golf course.
With Julie Quinn and Peter Simpson managing the teams, they played a series of ambrose events with each task requiring a different golf skill.
Each team did extremely well and will be representing Otautau School at Drummond Golf course for the Moonlight Trophy sometime soon.

Team One 1st
Brigitte Simpson, Dale Dowling, Sam Manson and Jake Declifford

Term Two 3rd
Ben Declifford, Ethan Carran, Zac Halford and Max Foy

Thanks to Room 3 for the images

Wheels on Wednesday is Back!

On Wednesday the 3rd of November everyone is invited to bring along their bikes (and helmets).

We (the PALs) have organised a bike relay with an obstacle course to maneuver around.

Please check your bike before Wednesday to make sure it’s in working order and your helmet is fitted correctly. Remember what Jack said about the 2 finger rule.

Bikes are to be walked on to the grass area and only ridden on the grass.

Any questions come and see Kerry.
